Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to provide breakfast and lunch on the same day?

  • No, you do not need to sign up to bring breakfast and lunch on the same day, but you are welcome to do so.

Do I need to serve my meal?

  • You do not need to serve the food, but you are welcome to stay and do so.
  • If you want to serve, you do not need a background check, as you will not be left alone with the children.

How much food should I prepare? How should I package it?

  • We would love a healthy, hot meal with a main dish (an 8×8 casserole size is plenty), 1-2 vegetables, and a fruit.  Pinterest has some great ideas!
  • You do NOT need to provide milk, plates utensils or napkins, as we will provide that.
  • Disposable containers are helpful, but not required. If you provide a reusable dish, we will wash it and leave it in the kitchen at The Peak.
  • You don’t need to portion food into individual servings.
  • One large jar or can of food is preferable to several smaller packages.

What types of food should I prepare?

The menu is located on the Signup Genius Link.

Where and when should I deliver my food?

  • Deliver your food to The Peak Church, 1200 N Salem Street, Apex.
  • Breakfast should be delivered by 9:30 am, with lunch delivered by 11:45 am.
  • Food can be delivered earlier, and left in the cooler at the side door by the playground. Simply park by the playground and walk up the sidewalk. You will see a door on your left, outside of which will sit a marked cooler. If you have something that needs to be kept cool, please place ice in a ZipLock bag and leave it in the cooler.

What do I do if I have to cancel at the last minute?

  • Our children are counting on you for their breakfast or lunch. Please do everything possible to avoid cancellation. If you must cancel, email Mike & Carolyn Gaul at pbmeals@thepeakchurch.org, but wait for a response to ensure they have received your message.
